    All bullshit aside...
This is not the board to sling misinformation.

If that order of assembly works for you, fine.
But speaking in absolutes, telling the OP he is "supposed" to do it a certain way, when in fact depot level armorer's technical manuals state otherwise.

Sometimes you think you know something, other times you KNOW you know something.
    Sorry general. No levity allowed.

I have not found this to be the case. More times than not it is because the trigger is slightly longer in length and cannot get passed the selector.

Anyway you slice it though, your method does not make the best way to install the FCG in ALL AR's.

When I installed my psa lpk I had to work the safety fairly hard to get it in with the fcg in - I was worried something wasn't right so I pulled the fcg and checked the alignment of the safety - it was fine - I reinstalled the fcg then pushed down on the rear of the trigger assembly and then pushed the safety selector through - function checked and everything went well - it just may be a bit tight.

I really appreciate everyone's opinion on this. For now I think I will leave everything as is. I'm a bit more at ease based on the responses. If I see any issues down the line (once I can get out and actually shoot) I will post it on here.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I was able to get out and zero my rifle, everything is smooth so far. I have an observation/question, when the bcg is locked back, should you be able to flip the safety selector fire/safe, vice versa? Mine gets stuck about 45 degrees.

The selector only locks up when the hammer is down.

Something is out of spec with your rifle.

BCG back, selector should function normally.
BCG forward with hammer back (cocked), selector should function normally.
BCG forward with hammer forward (fired) selector should be stuck in the fire position with slight movement towards safe.

If using GI FCG, I typically drop the trigger in and then install the selector. Then put in the trigger pin, hammer and hammer pin.
