    Colt Handguard Identification

Any markings on Colt A1 or A2 handguards to ID them? Looking at used ones and would like to know if I am for sure getting Colt handguards. But with some of the prices on gunbroker I might just buy new ones from SAW or see if Fidelis Firearms get some in the near future.

I only have an older 6550 (A2/Gov't) to go by, but the only markings I see are on the black tabs near the Delta ring end:

Both have the 'H' but one has what looks like a '1' and the other has what looks like a '4.' These are from '89 I believe, but no later than '92. My '09 LE6920 hg's don't have these markings, so I don't know how helpful that will be with any kind of authentication.

Thanks for the info. I think I will just buy new A1 and A2 handguards from SAW so I know what I have. Someone had used Colt A2 handguards listen on gunbroker for $100 minimum bid and buy it now for $150, SAW has new ones for $45!
