I posted this a while back, but it's not really the same rifle anymore. After shooting a friend's pencil barrel upper, I was surprised by how much better it handled than even the Spikes "optimum" profile barrel, which is somewhere between a government profile and pencil profile; I just had to have one. I was fortunate enough to catch one of the 14.5" BCM BFH middy uppers in stock (they lasted about 15 minutes). Here is a list of the components:
BCM 14.5" mid-length upper w/ BFH barrel and Centurion Arms C4 12" rail system
BCM Gunfighter comp mod 1
Spikes Tactical NiB BCG
Spikes ST-T2 buffer
PSA lower receiver
PSA lower build kit
Magpul MIAD grip
Magpul CTR stock (still my favorite stock)
Magpul MBUS (front and back)
Magpul ASAP end plate
Magpul VFG
Magpul MOE trigger guard
Troy rail covers
Streamlight TLR-1s w/ remote switch
BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle
Aimpoint T-1 in Aimpoint LRP mount
The point of this rifle is to be a fast handling, all-purpose defensive rifle that can also be used for competition. I think pretty much every part I chose is suited towards achieving that purpose. It's very light weight considering all the accessories--it weighs in at only 7.5 lbs empty. Hopefully I'll be able to take a class this summer, and this will be the rifle I take.
Here's my other rifle. It's a Rainier Arms CE16 upper/PSA lower. I like it, but I much prefer 14.5" barrels.
