Glock - can't get the mag extension off.

I have fairly large hands and this interferes w/G30SF empty mags dropping smoothly.

I want to add some weight but can't get the factory extension floorplate to move.

I've read the procedure - push pin down, slide off forward - what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks.

BTDT. Try pinching the sides of the magazine near the bottom adjacent to the floor plate. That should help.

Just took a ridiculous amount of pressure to get it moving!

If you don't have the tool a small screwdriver works pretty good. Push the pin in, squeeze the sides of the magazine and gently pull the screwdriver the way the floor-plate comes off.

It's really pretty easy once you learn to pull the plate forward with the Glock tool or a punch.

The short bodied 26's and 27's are a real pain, I use a small c clamp and a shop rag to "pre-pinch" and they come right off with a punch.

I was shown a trick by a friend. Push the little button all the way in until the plate dislodges. Then pull on the extension. If pulling on the extension is too difficult, you can take a small flat headed screw driver and pry it forward (on the front sides) alternating from side to side until it clears the detents.
