The previous thread on Bipod Loading/Unloading reminded me of a question I had. I am currently running a Harris Bipod. On more firm surfaces it can be difficult to load (even very lightly) it. While trying to find a remedy for a Bipod that is swiveling in a circular motion on the front swivel of the rifle (the bottom of the stock is wide and flat) I discovered that the introduction of negative cant or rearward rake, via shim, greatly improves the grip while loading. Has anyone else discovered this , or , better yet, run their rifle in such a configuration? Are there any commercial devices that accomplish the same thing? Any other suggestions?
Now I know the Atlas is the cats Meow, but that isn't an option right now.
