I just compromised and bought an SL-1. 50 more rated lumens, and it's a lighter combo. It may or may not be YOUR answer, but I like it.

Can anyone offer insights into how well these are holding up / durability?
I have about a month on my APL now. It's been exposed to inclement weather and been deployed quite a few times on the streets where I patrol. So far so good. Once in a while when I reholster the edge of the bezel hits a part of the holster. The mount is still solid. I also don't foresee myself dragging the light through thick brush or using it to hammer in a nail.
I have an APL. On mine, the right-side rail (if you're pointing the bezel away from you) disintegrated around 400 rounds of use on a Glock 19. The size and ergonomics of the light are fantastic, but in my experience it is not robust. It's not a light I would consider for serious use.

I'm trying to understand the switchology. To activate to you press inboard (as in toward the trigger) or push straight on (as in toward the muzzle) the switches?
