    Best Budget (<$75) EDC knife?

    Advice please.

    My current EDC knife is a good ol' classic Buck - fair to say I'm just not up to speed in the knife dept.
    Being fully aware of it's shortcomings when it comes to "rapid deployment" I am looking for a solid EDC folder that won't break the bank and will do the job well when all else fails.
    Intended use is EDC carry, self defense. Size no real issue. Looking at this as a starting point;

    Any (better) suggestions, within this price range?
    Thanks.

    You can go even cheaper than that and still be happy. I'm not a fan of serrated edges nor tanto points though.

    I love cheap folders.

    Three that I own and enjoy using:

    Ontario Rat 1

    Kershaw Leek

    Spyderco Pacific Salt

    I found a package deal on Amazon earlier this year where I picked up a couple of Spyderco knives (a Delica and a Tenacious) for under $100. They seem pretty decent to me, though I'm certainly no expert.

    I use my knives and don't get very technical about them but one of my favorite things is to use a knife to the point of being dull and restore its edge using my 3 (so far) sharpening stones. Another reason to like "cheap" folders.

    It's nice and light due to the lack of a liner, too.

    If you look in the various "what's your EDC" knife thread in this same sub-forum, many users discuss their choices in detail along with choices at different price points.

    The short answer will be the various Kershaws, Spydercos, and Benchmades which have plentiful options at $75 and under.
