    Short barrel suppressor options.

So here's the question. I already have an AAC
762-SDN-6 that I shoot on my 9" blackout and 16"
BCM. I just came in to a 10.5" palmetto upper which
I plan on using a can on a majority of the time. I know
I can use my SDN on it and with a brake I will save the
    Blast baffle some wear.

I'm considering however picking up either an m4-2000
Or one of 3 surefire cans, the legacy 212, legacy 556SB,
or the SOCOM-SB. I've tried searching some as to
on a short gun like this would one be noticeable more
Durable if they were all shot on the same firing schedule.
I know that decibel level will be similar across the board.
I'm more concerned about long term durability running
    Mostly suppressed.

Why wouldn't your sdn-6 do the job? Isn't it fully inconel?

I won't shoot 5.56 out of my 762SD but that's the reason I have the M4-2k. I honestly think you are fine with that sdn6. Robert Silvers would be the one to ask on his forum though as it has been thoroughly researched by individuals in that forum.

Surefire sure looks sexy though I am just a fan of AAC products as we used them in Iraq.

While not sexy, and not as lite as our new stuff or the SF or AAC stuff - its you want longevity and durability you cannot beat our (KAC) NT-4.

I think I'll go that route for my next 5.56 SBR build. I like that it's a legacy can.

The NT4 is good looking, quiet and built like a brick shithouse. It's also a half pound heavier than its modern competitors.

I went ahead and put a 51T mount on my 10.5" for now. I really can't justify the price of Surefire or Knights at the moment.

I'll shoot my SDN6 on it for now(which I did this weekend) and either go M4-2000 or Mini-4 leaning toward the mini-4. Thanks for all the replies fellas!

I'm happy w/ my FA556-212 on my 10" dedicated suppressed SBR. I can't compare it to the AAC (M4 2000) or KAC (NT4) as I don't own either. I do have a AAC M4 1000 that rarely gets used since I received the 212.

It's not a bad can. Suppression seems comparable to the SF. It's also longer, heavier, & the mount is no where near as solid. The moral of the story is to get the one you want. Otherwise you'll always wonder what you're missing.

As far as the price comment on SF & KAC, you might be pleasantly surprised with what they actually sell for. I'm a nobody & paid a few hundred less than any advertised SF price.

Why not? I've got an M4-2000 and a 762SD and I use both on 5.56mm weapons.
Why do the loudest do the least?
