shades of green: OD v. Ranger v. Foliage

I see several different discriptions of shades of green when it comes to chest rigs, puoches, slings, etc.

OD green, Ranger green, Foliage green, even one called Sewer green.

I'm not sure I really understand what color each of these are. Any explanations or better yet, visual comparison of these colors would be a big help.

What are your thoughts on the useful applications of these variations?

While we're at it, how about Khaki v. Coyote Tan v. Coyote Brown. What are the real differences?

And lets not forget Flat Dark Earth which looks more Khaki than Coyote to me.

Funny nylon trivia, Ranger green and smoke green come from the same rolls of fabric.

A unit (guess which one) wanted smoke green gear, but not from the people who market "smoke green" so they called it...you guessed it...Ranger green.

Sewer green is Emdom's name for the above greens and has been adopted by a few other vendors.

I wonder what color green they'd give to the crap I've been coughing up the last three days. It's been a rough week for jmart.

No sure on foliage except that it's very light green.

    Khaki is a light tan.
Coyote is a darker, browner tan.
Coyote tan and coyote brown are the same.
I think foliage is grey with a green tint. It's like faded smoke green the same way smoke is like faded OD.
