Well, correct. The mere inclusion of C158 does not, alone, a good bolt make.

But, it is a known quantity from a known source (Carpenter, even though you can get it from other places as well). I can't say the same for all batches of 9310.

I trust Joel to make a solid product. Without caveat. But I'm looking for more than what equates to a lateral move in bolt improvement if I'm going to jump-ship on a C158 bolt from a quality manufacturer. LMT's use of aermet steel and improved geometry being one of the possibilities.

Well, I'm in for a carrier. Also bought the V7 cam pin with the scallops.

This will be used with one of my Sharps bolts.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

It's supposed to be stronger, but I've never had an issue with a quality std piece. It just runs really smooth. REALLY smooth.

    I love the mount....so far.
Time and more shooting will tell how if it stays in place and doesn't loosen up.

I really like my Scalarworks mount too. No issues with it returning to zero or loosening up. Ran the carbine with it in the last class I took.
