    for those who think it is rust, obtain a magnet, place the area of suspect "rust" over the magnet and carefully scrape the "rust" with a pin or X-acto blade, if it sticks to the magnet, it is "rust".., if it don't, it is the burned powder residue or "other" OK ?

    I work at FN and as far as I know it's not done that way there either.

    Maybe he said flash-phosphated. I don't recall, but it was flash-something.
