    At least you did that.

I missed the ammo threat and since 2004 when full hog of firearms and magazines. I have some decent ammo stores but most of that was done pre 2008.

With the economy and the state of my business I just don't have the available cash to do anything meaningful to replenish ammo reserves. Right now I just shoot less, a lot less.

My plan is to hopefully get more solvent before the 2016 election because I think that one will go full retard, especially if it's Clinton vs. Christie. I hope to have a few spare AR rifles to offer at $5k and some $150 pmags. Although I'm not sure if Pmags will spike given the market saturation we are sure to see.

Either way I'll have a shitload of Pmags that I can keep in my personal stash or sell for amazing market prices.

I've been stocking a little at a time for a few years. Cut back on range visits. With the last smelter down, isn't there other uses for lead we still need? Lead / acid batteries for one?

I read somewhere that the lead plant thing is much ado about nothing. Can't remember where.

Now is the time to store up on all the parts needed to repair or build a few AR's while the getting is good with some of the sales I have been seeing on the net.

PSA Armory has some really decent sales on parts kits daily and as long as you know what your buying one can build a high quality rifle at a excellent price point.

I've seen that too. Something about how like 50% of lead is recycled. And we import most of the rest.

I had seen some comments on the Facebook machine (in response to the NRA's posting) about the same company owning some smaller smelting facilities and a different company in the works of building a brand new one.

Granted that was Facebook so who knows...

Sierra put out a statement about it today:

    http://sierrabullets.wordpress.com/2...ierra-bullets/

The main question asked is “Will this shut down your supply of lead.” The answer to that is no. First, Sierra buys lead from several different vendors to maintain constant supply. Second, this facility only smelts primary lead or lead ore. This is lead ore that has just been brought out of the earth. Sierra uses no primary lead at all and never has, so we use nothing directly from this facility. The lead we buy from Doe Run comes from their recycling facility in Boss, MO that is about 90 miles away from the smelter that is closing.

Large stocks of ammo is a good counter measure for a JDAAM or Predator strike...

Lead is recycled so much here in the US that it doesn't make a lot of sense to worry about smelters shutting down. At least in the next decade or so.

Hell if every palladium mine shut down tomorrow there would be enough recycled through cadadlidic converters that no one would notice for years in this country.
