    You don't need to carry a holstered suppressed gun and you don't need to run and get anything.

    I'm coming from the POV that it will be near my bedside and once it's in my hands, it won't be holstered.

    There's nothing wrong with the suppressed pistol at that point.

    Running downstairs in your skivvies to get a shotgun and finding a crook breaking into your safe is probably going to be the first of a long night's worth of troubles.
