Thread: Trouble shooting help. It pains me...

    No, but as it was mentioned if there is some excess build up and it was tight then yes. If you are describing everything correctly, and this ammo functions in other AR's and you changed the extractor spring, one has to wonder. Obviously not everyone has all the parts and stuff at their disposal but I would be trying different buffers. I suppose you should also check the lip of the extractor itself and look for chips/cracks as well as any type of build up.

    it does look a little worn, but like I said, I changed the entire bolt and still had issues.
    I'll give it a good cleaning first, try it, then fiddle w/ buffer weights. If still having issues, I'll send it back to the factory.

    FWIW, S&W had pretty good customer service:fast email response times, email acknowledging arrival and departure of firearm, email for the UPS shipping tag ....

    Will update once I have something to say!
