    $460 is a little far out, I was thinking somewhere under $300

    Yes, it is. The Select series 18" is mid-length gas. The Match series 18" is rifle gas. The Match series profile is heavier before the gas block due to the longer gas system.

    Which one will be softer shooting?

    Typically the longer the gas system, the softer it will feel when shooting.

    Just went out and shot my new spr upper that's sporting a rainier arms ultra match SPR, two best groups at 200 were .75 and .623 MOA.
