Overgassed, kicking brass to 1 oclock. Suggestions needed

One of my ARs is a 6.8SPC with a 10.5'' barrel and is suppressed 90% of the time. It's kicking brass pretty hard to the 1 oclock position and the brass deflector is getting pinged so bad that the Cerakote has gotten chipped away.

I've been looking at solutions and am about to pull the trigger on an A5 setup. Is this going to be the answer to my problem? If I run the A5, what spring and what buffer weight should I order? I don't want to drop $50 on an H2, only for it to be insufficient.

It may be obvious, but the way to solve an over-gas problem is with a smaller gas port.

Is it over gassed when the suppressed or unsuppressed? both?

What barrel do you have and what size is the gas port?

A5 system is a band-aid for the real problem. The best solution is to address the real problem and buy an adjustable gas block or an insert that Clint sell's.

It's a factory LWRC M6 upper (piston), so I'm not able to run another gas block.

Not sure if it's overgassed when unsuppressed, as I haven't fired unsuppressed in awhile.

Doing a quick search shows several people have having the exact same issues as yours.

I'd contact LWRC and see what they offer.

One of their new models has an adjustable regulator for suppressor use.

I have used the A5 and it does help, I used the 7oz buffer. Gun works fine with out the can still. The A5 gave a much better effect than going up to the H2 or H3. I agree it is a band aid fix but a good one.

I've since taken BOTH routes. Returned the upper to LWRCi to get looked over (still no word of any fixes made though and their customer service is a bit difficult to reach). Also picked up the A5 and an H2 to play with. Once I get the upper back, I'll know if I need to change the H2 out.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll update this thread when something changes.
