Troy M7A1 CQB & KeyMod Rail

Justr recently got to handle this new platform and rail and was impressed by the whole system, this version was presented in Canada at a distributor/dealer show with the understanding that this was not the finalized version, the new version eliminates the rear rail on the 5.56 platforms, but will be retained on the new Troy 308 carbine & rail...

I really don't mean to be a downer, but what is the point of the keymod slots on this particular Troy rail? There's a QD at the rear near the receiver, and the forward 3-4" has 1913 rails. The only thing you could put on those keymod slots are rail covers, or another QD mount if you wanted it mid-rail.

I wish manufacturers would make up their mind. They obviously aren't completely committed to keymod when they release something like this.

Agreed. They need to drop all the built in rails at 3, 6 and 9. Otherwise it does look promising.

I never understood the need for not detachable rails on a keymod system. Although I am intrigued by the receiver extension. I saw it at Showshow, but they would not talk about it.

Do you mean Troy is coming out with a complete .308 carbine or did I just misunderstand that?
