    Mountain gun/revolver holsters

Have been thoroughly enjoying Mr. Smith's thread on the mountain guns. Learned a lot (including discovering mine is a mountain revolver). Didn't want to side track his thread so I thought it best to start this one.

I carry my mountain gun primarily while traveling in our mountains here in n.e. Oregon. We have a large population of predators (cougars, wolves, etc.) to contend with and the .44 is a pleasure to carry all day. I have yet to find a holster that I like and I was curious what other mountain gun owners have found. I prefer a quality leather rig in cross-draw style.

    Thanks in advance.

Simply Rugged Chesty Puller is what you want. Superb quality and won't break the bank. I've met the maker, Rob, and he is a great guy as well.

    Had the system for a 4" 686.

I'm using a Diamond D guides choice holster for my Ruger Alaskan on backcountry trips. Very comfortable for all day carry.

I will echo what others have said about simply rugged. I have multiple sourdough pancake holsters for various revolvers and a couple of cuda holsters for some semi-autos. They are all great and can be used with the Chesty Puller system.

Diamond D for a Glock 20. I like the fact that it is a quick adjust harness for donning/shedding layers.
