    Crimson trace, which one?

I was getting ready to buy crimson for my MNP 340 j frame. Noticed there are several.

I grabbed one with front activation that felt good in a LGS.

Which one is the one to get?

Personally, I like the 405 model better than the 305. You have enough of a cushion on the backstrap to avoid pain. But the grip is still small enough for pocket carry. The 305 makes it more difficult for pocket carry.

How big is your hand? Some people just cannot use the 405 very effectively due to their wookie-sized paws.

If you see a pair of the older 205's you might want to snag them. They have a harder polymer on the grips, and seem to be easier/faster on presentations. But they have not been made in years, and only pop up occasionally.

    Hope that helps.

I wear large or XL gloves. Not huge. What is wookie sized? Big or small ?

I always get the 405s. But I have medium hands. I am willing to sacrifice grip for concealment.

This is a pic of mine to give you an idea how small the small grip is.

    Greg,

It looks like the same size as is on the gun, 340. Would you say that is correct?

Yeah. If it is any different I didn't notice.

LG-105 are the closest to the stock grips. The LG-405 are short like the stock grips, but fatter. The LG-305 are longer and allow the pinky to get a good grip. I like the feel of the 405.

I like the 105 Defender. it is more round and made of mostly plastic, not rubber. it is the cheapest as well.

Put me down as a proponent of the 405. I have small hands so it fits me fine.

I like the slimmer profile of the 105 but I don't have enough meat in my hand/fingers to positively activate the button.

One must choose a grip that works for himself/herself.
