"Need" is a relative term anyway, and doesn't apply to all the important things in life.

A 4"-6" S&W 686 or Ruger GP100 in .357 will do a lot of work for you, and with the right holster can be concealed.
    A 4"-6" S&W 617 (in six shot, I'm a traditionalist) or a S&W 63 with clean chambers can cover your target requirements.

    Optional:
If you need a dedicated hunting gun for large/dangerous game I'd go Ruger redhawk or S&W in the .44-.50 range. I don't but you might.
For a small concealment piece I'd go J frame or Detective special.

    A J Frame centennial for a BUG,
    a K22 for rimfire fun/ small game
A 5" 29 .44 for HD, hunting, and CCW when the j frame isn't enough.
