Actually from what Robert was saying, the XD rear is not that far off what a Sig rear is. The XD sight also fits dead flush with the rear of the slide instead of hanging over.

He bead blasted the slide, then milled out the area for the sight and re-cut the dovetail for the sight.

The trigger work he did on this is also top notch, and I would recommend his work to anyone wanting to take their Sig to another level!

I agree. It was a police trade-in I picked up, a triple serial number West German. The night sights needed to be replaced, and it could use an SRT and a Sig service package, but other than that she's good to go.

I wish I hadn't been so slow to react to Sig not exporting X-Fives any more. At least I have one.

It looks like it will be at least 2016 before they start making X-Fives here in the US.

    My one and only

The P220 was my first sig as well. I got it way back in 1991 amongst other popular pistols such as a Beretta 92f, Colt 1911, Walter PPK and a Smith 1006. It was by far the best fitting pistol for my hand. I shot it pretty well but I didn't like the trigger, very gritty (like sand). Still enjoyed shooting it more than everything else except for the 1006 loaded with Winchester silver tips (3-foot fireball)

I'm very happy with how it fits my hand. More comfortable than my 1911. The grips are crazy stocky though. They're getting better with wear but still rough.

I've been throwing fireballs with standard 230gr Federal AL cased stuff.

I polished some things last night which greatly improved the feel of the trigger.
