Adcor B.E.A.R. is now the Elite A-556

Michael Brown designer of the Adcor BEAR is no longer with the company. His son left, also. Adcor appears they have renamed their gas piston AR15 the Elite A-556. Was his leaving due to the cancellation of the Army's third phase of the IC tests or what? How does this affect the adoption and growth of this outstanding tool as well as getting new technology/best tech. to our hero troops. M4 was always at the bottom of the heap during the testing phases. Powerful lobbying by Colt? The politics in Washington are disgraceful, as it has been of late.

Don't really think DI guns are "bottom of the heap". IMO the Adcor is just another piston gun. IMO not sure what it offers that proven piston guns like the LMT MRP offer. By the looks of it these don't seem to really be going anywhere as they really don't offer much over what a DI gun offers. Fact is our troops are currently already using solid weapons. Unsure what people think our troops will benefit from with a specialized piston system with specialized and proprietary parts, unless of course it's a KAC
From TOS ... "buy the shit out of that thing, all the mil spec is just nonsense."

Seen too many pictures with our valiant troops slaughtered by the enemy with DI gas M4's' laying around them disassembled because of sustained fire jam ups due to DI carbon and other shtf events happening during a heated gun fight. Rank and file here, not elite units. 3 large corps and 1 small making it to the third and final phase the plug was pulled. Dame shame.

Havent you seen the "stinky 24" thing where all you have to do is oil the weapon constantly?

In all seriousness, a weapon that is more dependable in the hands of our troops is a good thing. Much more important than loyalty to a platform.

Piston or D.I who cares. Just use what is best. Sadly Washington is all about the money.

    Really?
Seems to me that our troops are being killed by a combination of IEDs, higher-ups reluctance to take the fight to the enemy for fear offending the religion of Peace, bowing to political correctness and willful blindness to domestic "workplace violence" (see Nidal Hassan).

Where are there any pics of troops dying while in the middle of cleaning their M4's?
Small arms are important, but they are a very small part in the bigger picture of fighting wars.

SERIOUSLY?! TWO POSTS, and this is what you post--that you've seen pictures of our soldiers who died because of DI issues!?!?!
Can you post these pics, links to them, because I've NEVER heard of such a thing. I know that that freaking baby-powder "sand" can get in everywhere, and that we have changed how we oil/clean because of it, but this just sounds like you've got a piston design to sell (along with a bridge or two).

Any time groups are killed by small arms, it's been a very rare circumstance--the 4 snipers in Iraq (on top of the building all shot at close range), an overrun or nearly overrun FOB, etc. I've heard of NO SUCH instances, and as much info as I get from many different sources, I'd like to think someone would have heard of this.
    Please explain.

Sure. Please share all of these pictures with us. No wait, don't do that. Both of your posts smell of fecal matter. Please don't post this nonsense again.
