    New Model "Hackathorn Special"!

    http://wilsoncombat.com/new/handgun-...p#.UwtcX0JdUhc

This is Ken's concept for his Wilson Combat "Dream Gun"
An Armor-Tuff model for the range and a blued model for display or the BBQ.
It is a unique gun designed by a unique individual and we are extremely proud of the finished product.

Ken Hackathorn is a "prime mover" in the world of 1911's. He has been an advocate and disciple of the platform for over 40 years. His choices are a result of his background and experiences training thousands of people to shoot "old Slabsides"

The concealment grip safety and hammer are reminiscent of the first practical beavertails of 70's designed by people like Hoag and Kings that were small enough to be useful but not too big they got in the way. The one piece magwell is the same length as a standard 47D magazine so it enhances reloading without adding excess length.

The look, the feel and the sprit of the gun is all "Ken". Nice upgrades, unique look and practical touches.

Very sexy. I really like the font on the Wilson logo.

Nice looking gats! Only thing I would have done different was no fcs on the blued model. Love the ball cuts!

    That thing is pure sex.

I would love one of those. I have to agree that the font you guys used for Wilson Combat is the best yet.

That blued pistol in the first photo is really something special. It reminds of the pistol Chuck Petrie (Army Chief) had commissioned.

Are those grips available separately, or only with one of the pistols bearing Mr Hackathorn's name? I looked through your website and did not see them.

Thanks again for posting the pics, I do so admire a well-done 1911.

    Serious Student,
We had ivory grips up until VERY recently, but there has been new regulation regarding its sale, so we no longer have them. That is a set on Ken's personal gun. Also, slotted screws will be the standard for his model, along with black G10 grips.

    Bill:

There was a method to that ivory grip madness. As a long time 1911 person, Ken developed a taste in certain gun color/finish and grips combination. When it comes to a bbq gun, Ken indicated his preference of ivory grips with a blued pistol. So I took his lead/advice and installed a set of ivory on my dressy Colt. Back in November, during my visit with Chuck, I took that gun plus another 1911 with features that I knew Chuck was considering having done to his presentation Colt. We discussed the choice of grips and the origin of the ivory grips on my Colt. I think Chuck liked what he saw. I miss Chuck greatly.

Riots are like sports, it's better to watch it on TV at home.
