Receivers: Forged vs. Billet?

If you are honestly worried about your upper receiver, go with the Vltor MUR, its the strongest upper receiver available.

I thought that the LaRue and the Sun Devil were also billet uppers, all in the same class.

Isn't Vltor now forging the MUR? Any idea if they are as straight and true as the billet versions?

The original MURs were extrusions.

I would not worry about the strength of any AR upper or lower receiver.

Yes there is a difference in the strength of the materials...do the stresses which the receivers are subjected to come close to the 'maximum' either 6061 or 7075 could handle? no...
