There are no models with TS in the DVP coated list.

Thumbs up The New M&P 9mm FS/LE guns shoot very well. Mine does not have the PVD finish.

Not to Hi-Jack Grant's thread, but my M&P9LE I got from Grant at Christmas is making me look good today.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you,
but it's still on my list.

What were the issues with the vtac models that some are talking about?

The finish on the slides showed premature wear on edges especially when holstered in a Kydex holster.

To be honest, Kydex is MURDER on any finish an WILL wear it. Its even worse if there is dust and dirt inside of it.

Like a sanding block? I can see where the pores in the Kydex would hold grit and become a sanding tool.
How does Cerekote compare to the VTAC and PVD finish S&W uses?

PVD isn't really known all that well so I hate to judge it, but I think Cerakote is tougher.

I recently fondled one at my local cop shop. The trigger is much improved. The frame had a grey color that I dont remember seeing on the earlier version

I'm considering this pistol for duty use BUT:
Question about the M&P pistols...we got one in on a T&E when we were buying new guns 2 years ago...we had some serious problems with it and I was wondering if we just got a lemon or some beat up junk thats passed around to any department that requests one.
Have any of you guy seen the following problems occur?
-The pin that holds the interchangeable grips on kept falling out while shooting. Falling out and landing on the floor...
-The magazine floorplate blew out twice while shooting (unsure if same mag)
-Couple FTF malf's (maybe same mag as above?)

We let each officer shoot a qual with it to get their impressions. Most stated they liked how it fet in the hand but couldn't trust it because of these problems. We bought glocks. Now we are being offered the option of buying something different for ourselves if we don't want to carry the glock and a lot of officers remember the M&P falling apart during testing. Are these commom problems? Just a lemon? This was a full size .40 cal.
