Need ideas for flash hider to cover threads on 700

My 700 SPS is getting threaded, among other things. But I don't want to just put a thread protector on it. Need suggestions for a good, but affordable flash hider that is effective. Don't need or want a brake. Might go suppressed later if they ever fix the law in IL, which is in the works from my understanding. I was looking at the YHM 5C1, but.... if someone has better experience, i'm all ears.

Not sure why you'd avoid a brake. It's not like an AR where a brake sucks big time. But that said... I'd be eye balling the BCM muzzle device. There's a 7.62 coming out I think.

If you change your mind on the brake-very effective, easy on/off

Other that, just get a standard A2 in .308

The 5/8-24 threaded A2 seems to meet your stated needs.

If you don't want a brake or a comp, the 7.62 Vortex is the other option, as far as ease of use.

Flash suppression is the first priority for the device, mounting a suppressor is next. Recoil isn't bad enough for me that I'm worrying about a brake.

The SEI Vortex is restrictive on what cans you can mount, but for flash suppression, cost, simplicity they're unbeatable. Depending on the can you wind up with, and the wait associated with getting one, you can run one of these for a while, be happy with it, and consider the suppressor options as a secondary concern, since those usually are going to have dedicated muzzle devices.
