+1 on the HUGE muzzle flash. I loaded up a stout 8x57 load for K98 with H335 and 150 gr pills. I had monstrous fireballs (2 ft+) despite the ample barrel length of the K98. My other IMR 4895 loads exhibited no such behavior.

Yep. I shot a much hotter load (velocity wise) using W748, and it had no visible flash at dusk out of an 11.5 with A2 FH. The H335 however had hollywood flash.

Since the late 1970s, I've run 26.0 (per the Hodgdon manual) and 55 Remington FMJ (M-193) ~3150 from 20 inch barrel.

THAT LOAD IS MAXIMUM. WORK UP TO IT!

I can't wait to get another pound of it. I put my RMR (rainier mini comp) back on an 11.5 upper for this stuff.

hehehe. My first purchase of H335 was 100 lbs bulk packed! At $1.40 per lb.

Then the bench rest boyz discovered it, and all the MilSurp was gone overnight.

A few years back, when I shot a lot more 5.56 and 7.62X51 than I do now, I saved a lot of money by buying it in cases of four each eight lb plastic bottles.

Fortunately, I haven't need to purchase any for several years now.

There's a lesson here. When supplies become readily available at normal prices again, (and they will, eventually) then "youse gize" need to stock up.

Ugh... that's painful. It shoots better at $29 per pound however.

I've shot 23.0 grains behind a 55 gr hornady and it cycles my Daniel Defense Midlength with an H Buffer. Sample of one and all.

21.5 gr for 77 gr BTHP
Just for my own clarification, is that 62g FMJ the M855 projectile or a different one?
