I'm using the medium side straps and the large backstrap. I don't have large hands, but I find I shoot better this way. Also, with the P30 and the medium backstrap I sometimes found that because of my finger placement the slide occasionally did not lock back on the last shot. The larger backstrap corrected that issue.
The VP9 trigger breaks further forward than that of the P30 when firing the P30 single action. The VP9 also has a shorter reset than the P30.It's just that for the P30, the trigger breaks way back and ideally, I would like the trigger to break as close as possible to when my trigger finger is perpendicular to the pistol. This makes it as easy as possible to be pulling the trigger straight back because you actually are. To do this, I had to put the large back strap and large right side strap to bring my hand back and rearwards in relationship to the trigger.
We ran our weekly IPSC match tonight. I never would had guessed it, but a G21 holster worked quite well for the VP9. My buddy used this setup tonight and it ran surprisingly well. This is one that really took me by surprise.

I hate that youtube is blocked at work.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to take mine out until Friday. For those who've shot theirs, did you run some 124g stuff through at first? I know that was recommend for the P30... maybe 300 rounds to help break in the spring as the gun was designed for 124g. Wondering if the VP9 has a similar recommendation. The RSA doesn't look nearly as buff in the VP9.
”Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American… The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state government, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people”

I've only shot 115 through mine with zero issues.
I've put 400 rounds of Federal 9mm 115 grn bought from Walmart through. No issues at all.
I had 50 124's that I used and they worked fine. Everything else I have used was 147gr; which ran without issue as well.
