    Plastic Surgery for Non-Surgeons

Hey, gang- I stumbled on a fantastic resource that may be of interest. Dr. Nadine Semer is a plastic surgeon with extensive third world missionary experience. She has compiled a simple text designed for the non-surgeon to better treat wounds when high-level medical care is not available. Reading this doesn't equal the 15 years or so of training after high school needed for some to become a plastic surgeon, but this could be a great resource. Enjoy-

Good practical handbook. I provide it to my medical students doing their surgery rotation on our service.

Very cool, thanks for the link, tower59. I'm always looking to build the library.

    Hmac, thanks for the endorsement.

Is this helpful for general surgery or just plastic surgery?

Some good information on wound management and some types of acute injuries.

Yup, don't let the "plastic surgery" title mislead you, this isn't about tummy tucks and liposuction! There's lots more to the world of plastic surgery, and this really covers a pretty broad range of wounds. Download it and check it out if you're interested- the price is right! Have a good one-

Thanks! Just downloaded it and glanced through the first chapter. Really need to work on my sutures, but it's rare I place them more than once a month.
