Collapsing stock with rifle-length barrel question

Yea I searched and found some threads about this but nothing in an "FAQ" form to answer basic questions to those new to the idea.

    My question:

I can put a 20 inch upper on a carbine lower (with common M4-type stock) and all I need to do is use a heavier buffer like an H2, right? Wrong? Maybe?

Because I'm not using that ridiculous A2 fixed stock..

You would be better off using Vltor A5 set up https://www.rainierarms.com/?page=sh...roduct_id=3317, https://www.rainierarms.com/?page=sh...roduct_id=3276

Yes you could use carbine extension with H2, H3 or the new H6.

If you must use the carbine tube, get a blue Sprinco spring and an H3 buffer.

That receiver you lo linked was not an A5 receiver extention. Do not use an A5 buffer system with a standard carbine receiver extention. You need an A5 receiver extention.

Long story short, I built the exact rifle you're looking at, 20in + collapsible. Let me tell you, I was given the same advice and heeded it.

Alpha ops has the entire kit - the stock for $110 and free shipping, just do it and be happy.

Yep. That's what the A5 was designed for.

Am I the only one who wishes that Magpul would make the UBR with an A5 length receiver extension?
