damn carrier key

i have only wanted a chrome bolt carrier for easier clean up, so today at the show i picked up a chrome carrier, he put on a chrome key and screws for me, but he didn't stake them.....SO i went home, read all about staking, removed the screws added some blue loctite and proceeded to torgue the screws to 40lbs and bam, the front carrier screw broke off inside the carrier, i didn't even get it to 30lbs

What brand was it? Who sells bolts with out the key installed? The bolts must not be to spec.

It should be inch lbs not foot lbs............

the dealer had complete bC and stripped carriers, i planned on using it on my 762x39 so i didn't want the bolt, so he through a key on it.

and i barely got any torque on it, my allen was still vertical.
