    T1 Base Removal

I am trying to remove the factory base off of a new T1. Any help appreciated. Have removed the screws, next? Don't want to start beating on it just yet unless it is needed.

    Thanks,
    Spence

I am not sure what you are saying. Have you gotten the screws out? If so when I took mine out to put on LaRue base, the factory base basically fell off. If not maybe a light tap with a screwdriver handle. Never heard of one being stuck after the screws are out.

You are not the first to report this problem.

Removal from factory T-1 mount can be a PITA.

If you broke off the heads,

You may have to drill into the remaining screw shaft and use #1 "Easy Out" like I did to successfully remove the remainder of the Hex Head machine screws.

It's not you, it's the design and over torked from the factory.

I'm pretty sure I got the screws out without breaking them, no major torque was needed to break them loose. Pretty much the base is just really on there, I have tried tapping it, etc.

UPDATE: Hit it with PB Blaster then a couple of taps and it fell right off in my hand.

    Thanks!
