    Sionics Patrol Rifle MK2

Ran the Sionics Patrol Rifle MK2 in a Haley Strategic class this past weekend. Class was from up close and personal to 600yds. Ammo. was IMI M855. Optic-Aimpoint M4S.

Disclaimer: I do know an integral member on the Sionics staff. However, if the rifle was shitty, I would say so. Thankfully, that isn't the case.

The rifle ran the class without a single issue. A Sig 556 and a Salient rifle both had continuous issues. The MK2 was lubed twice and not cleaned during the class. The nickel/PTFE plated carrier wiped clean with minimal effort. I really liked the Geissele SMR rail. The profile fit well in my hand and several class members that fondled it immediately became converts. No prob. with heat even in rapid fire. By this I mean a simple pair of Mechanix gloves was more than enough to keep me comfortable. I ran many strings w/o gloves. Vltor A5 RE was an option I am glad I added.

Accuracy: I had no issues with getting hits out to 600yds. using an Aimpoint so I believe this says enough on the accuracy of the rifle/barrel.

For the features included on the rifle, the price point it hits seems to me to make the rifle an excellent value.

For those that care, Travis commented several times that the staff at Sionics is top notch and a good group of guys.

At this point, I would have no worries if I had to depend upon this gun to save my life.

Just sold and bought a house so not too much time right now. If anyone has questions, I'll try to answer ASAP. I'll also try and get some pics. up but be patient.

Thank you for your evaluation of the Rifle. Good to know it ran awesome for you, sounds like those guys are cranking out some great stuff, especially their barrels.

Class was in UT. Pics may take several days; very busy. Will do ASAP. Have pics of bolt dirty and clean with minimal effort. Pics of rifle to be added as well.

SIONICS barrels look pretty awesome. They're some kind of medium contour. Does anybody know the diameter before and after the FSB?

Seriously considering one of their uppers right now.

    Thanks.

The barrel covered in the Geissele SMR rail makes a good couple. Really looks nice(yes, yes, looks don't matter).

It does look good, but it's out of my budget for now. It's going to be an AR pistol (I know, I know), so for now I'm going to be using either stock or MOE handguards, or a KAC RAS.
