Question New AK mags from Croatia . . .

First time that I have seen these. Anyone know anything about them?

With "Made in Croatia" stamped in English on these mags I hold them suspect of just being more "commerical" grade mags coming in. I hope these turn out to be "mil-spec" on par with Eastern Bloc steel mags but they could turn out to be just another Korean (KCI) mag (note the six welds around the locking tab). That is the same way the S Korean KCI mags are constructed so I won't be beta testing any of these.

Meh, the price is right so I'll put a few tru the ringer. On side note- that almost looks like a stamp vs a weld. I don't know anything about manf process and different process of each country, so please feel free to educate me. But locking tab area looks uniformed, and halfway decent. Some Korean ones looks like they let a cross eyed guy do them. For price I'll give them a shot.

The "bolt hold open" follower are enough to make me pass.

I already have a couple Yugo mags for that purpose, just to let the rifle cool at the range, when not in use.

They are a PITA for anything else.

It might be a stamp and not a weld, to be honest I'm not sure myself. Here is a pic off the www comparing the Korean KCI mags to an Easter Bloc mag.

Those look like welds to me, just more uniform than what you would find on Egyptian, etc mags:

I like TIGHT mags, and these are advertized as such. What would be good followers to substitute to get rid of the BHO?

they weren't tight in my Pap pistol (correct magwell) but they were tight in the pioneer, and Romanian magwells that were opened up, just required a little force pulling backwards to lock. After they were in and out a few times they got easier.
