Most spring kits include a lighter spring for the disconnector. How does a lighter disconnector spring help to lighten the trigger pull weight? It looks like the only function of the spring is to make sure the disconnector catches the hammer so it can reset. Once the hammer and sear have reset the disconnector is pretty much not doing anything to make the trigger harder to pull. So why the lighter disconnect spring?

Am I missing something? Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks
