Need tips on sighting in 308

Hunting season is almost here in SC . Just got this TC pro hunter , has a 28" fluted barrel . If I started out at 50 yards where would I want point of impact if I want to be zeroed for 200 yards ? Trying to shoot as little as possible because where I can shoot is all hunting areas . I will take pics and post them up . Thank you for any help

Need muzzle velocity to nail that down, but a 50 yard/meter initial zero will get you close at 200, but you need to verify at actual distance, no matter what.

Yes agreed, you are probably good for hunting purposes at 50yrd zero. Most people want to shoot a 3 round group at 200 to check that though. Those 150 grain Hornandy's are a safe bet. Therefore from 0-200 you should be good for Hunting deer size game.

    Good luck.

I can run some numbers for you but need brand and variety of am,o along with grain of the bullets. It won't be 100% with actual chronograph data but will have you very close at 200.

I used 1.5" sight over bore, so 1" low at 50 to be dead on at 200, if your sight over bore is different than 1.5" you can run it at this link with your correct parameters.

I need the dummy version of the jbm calculator . How would you measure correctly sight over bore ? Middle of barrel to middle of scope ?
