Most well-received WW2 American service weapon??

Imagine going up against an MG-42.

My uncle didn't have to imagine it in the mountains of Italy and he was wounded for his efforts. He got heavily into black market guns and other things after his convalescing. He brought back many war trophies [pistols mainly] that were stolen before I could take possession.

Whatever the reasons for the Japanese surrender, the bomb or the communist yoke, dad survived the air war over Europe. But one could not know his prospects of the same over Japan.

Said he liked the m3 grease gun b/c it was tremendously easy to stay on target b/c of the low cyclic rate
