    BCM Forward Assist Issue

Today I went shooting with my friends as one of them just got a Colt LE6920. I found a mag with some Wolf Military Classic ammo (which I know is cheap crap but I got it for free so wth) and I figured I would get rid of it by firing it rapidly into the target. First two rounds went fine. Third was a FTF. I tapped, racked, and banged. Fifth round stopped with the BCG halfway open and it wasn't centered in the bolt so it would not extract. I finally pried it out with a screwdriver and lo and behold, lodged in the barrel was the forward assist pawl. What in the hell would cause that to happen?

You say it's a BCM forward assist in the title but in the text box you say it's a Colt LE6920. I can't conceptualize how a component that should never get clear of the carrier in the action would somehow get dragged and ejected into the barrel. I would suggest your friend get it sent off to Colt for warranty work. They will fix it and test it for function as well as check for any possible issues with the factory upper.

Edit: I get it now, you took your BCM along and shot the wolf out of it. If that is the case then contact BCM about sending it in to be checked out and fixed.

The pin that retains the pawl breaking? Not sure, had to reread your post like five times to get a good understanding what happened(No, not really your fault, am tired.). But pulled the schematics, since I am not intimately familiar with that area of the rifle that is what I would assume, (supposing that it is even possible for it to get into the action that way). If the upper is a complete BCM upper my first thoughts would be to call BCM in the morning and see if they have any insights.
