I weighed the DDM4 Rail 15.0 at 15.1 oz (just the rail system). The SLiM weighs in at 10.8 oz (just the handguard). 4.3 oz difference. It's CRAZY light!

I am curious, why not put Keymod on all sides except 12 o'clock? It seems one of the attractions to keymod is having it between the 3, 6, and 9 0'clock positions to increase the utility of space on the handguard.
We are using the same extrusion as our DDM4/AR15 Lite Rail III for the SLiM handguards. It just made sense to use material that we already have and it simply wouldn't allow for KeyMod in the offset positions.

I handled one at my lgs last week. I love the feel of it. I like it better than the BCM but I haven't felt the KAC so I can't comment on that one. It doesn't feel as slim as the BCM but it feels more ergonomic in my hands. Very light. Much more so than my M4V1. I really want to get one now. I might have to spring for the upper sometime before Christmas.

I understand how the product cycle will work for these - still really looking forward to some KeyMod furniture options as well.

I admit that my opinion isn't based on any first-hand experience, but it doesn't appear to do anything better than the KMR.

Obviously, my opinion is subject to change following reviews/ personal use.
I handled a KMR the other day and it seemed VERY light/thin. In a world where people demand anti-rotation tabs on rails because of the torque some people may place on a VFG, I think that thin wall is going to have to pay the piper...

Happy to hear this. I will be in line for a 9 inch version.

It's thin. It's light. It's sexy. There is a piper to pay. I think in time we might see more evidence of that. Nothing is free.

I'm really digging this V11 LW setup after shooting it for a few days, and I'm still impressed at how light it feels whenever I pick it up. It's quickly becoming my favorite configuration, and I'm already wanting to get a second one...

Also; feeling how nice the 16" gun with 15" rail handles really makes me want a 14.5" version with a 12-13" SLiM rail. Shedding 4-5oz out front and getting it right at or under 6 pounds with a light BUIS like the Magpul MBUS would be slick.
