Ok,
So I bought a set of Hayes Research HK style sights and last week I bought a set of HK 416 sights (price was too good to turn down). Now, I noticed that the HK sights use a typical clamp on style with a phillips head screw. The Hayes uses set screws that go down vertically through the sight and "lock in" using vertical pressure (as opposed to "clamping" force). Is this a "6 of one..." situation, or is one of the mounting methods better than the other. I'm wondering if the Hayes method has the potential to mar the rail?
