I've got a similar setup with the 10.3" DD barrel an an sdn6. I've got a 556sd at my dealer on a form 3. To the ear I'd say the level of suppression is pretty equal, but seems just a bit quieter on the sdn6 due to the lower tone the above poster mentioned.
its worth considering the saker 556 and saker 762 with 556 end cap
I considered the Saker but no one local has them I stretched my budget a bit for the 7.62sdn6 and since it's my first suppressor I am a little leary of buying online I like the fact that I can see the exact one before I buy it and talk to the guy who is selling it to me face to face. I bit the bullet yesterday stopped after work and laid the money out. Now the waiting begins.
I have both the 5.56 and 7.62 SDN
For your SBR, Get a 5.56 can. The weight is the most significant thing. You can always get the 30 cal can later.

Mini's can actually be quieter for the shooter. Less back pressure equals less port snap. The first time I shot Pappabear's mini, I expected to get a little ear discomfort, but it's actually less snappy on an AR.
Now out front of the can it's probably louder, but the sonic crack makes that irrelevant since EVERY can on an AR is painfully loud in front of the muzzle.

If you are going to buy one can and one can only, get the SDN6. But as Pappa said, a 5.56mm can on an SBR makes more sense when you consider the N6 is longer and heavier - all for nothing if you aren't shooting .30 cal. You'll end up buying a 30 cal suppressor later anyway. Trust me.
This is a DD 16" chopped to 10.3" with a 9" Centurion rail. It's heavy with an M4-2000. An N6 would just be worse.

Why do the loudest do the least?
I have absolutely no complaints about the Mini-4 on my factory DD MK18 upper; for an SBR I wanted as small and handy as possible while still getting the benefits of sound suppression (5.56 notwithstanding). Once I add it to my 12.5" upper I am right about the same length as a 16" un-suppressed gun.
Unfortunately finances dictate 1 can and 1 sbr as of now. I figured later if I can afford it I could always pick up a dedicated 5.56 can.
Also I figured .30 caliber first because I have one 5.56 rifle, 7.62 x39, and a bolt gun in .308 so figured I'd get one for all of them. I don't even have a 5.56 really yet got a box of parts waiting for a form 1 to come back too me.
