bullet vs rifling

I would guess that the lighter the bullet assuming it is faster the the less the twist of the rifling, true or not. What should I expect say from a 1 in 8 twist -better accuracy with a lighter than 55 grain or heavier or just right?

IIRC it is the length of the bullet that corresponds to the slower twist. Its just that higher weights usually mean longer bullets.

I'm not sure what you can expect from a 1 in 8 barrel as far as the proper bullet to twist goes. IIRC, 1 in 9 is mated to 62gr. and 1 in 7 is for the heavier tracer round used by the SAW.

The 1/8 twist is pretty well suited to a 75-77 grain pill. More of it has to do with what lenght they are loaded to IIRC. I'm not a bench shooter so someone with more knowledge of this will probobly step in. WTS your 1/8 will be able to stabalize any mag lenght load you might find.

Unless you are using weights (lengths really) unsuited for a particular twist-rate, the quality of the barrel and ammunition will play a much larger role in accuracy than twist-rate.
