This is what will be testing out the new freezer filling rounds.

The single shot shotgun to me keeps it just a little old school, a notch above a muzzleloader..and like bow hunting..
Keeping a one shot one kill mentality...

    Federal Trophy

    Federal Fusion

    100yards

Probably blame the stragglers on the shooter, but still one dead deer.
If I miss heart or lungs I'll have to blame it on buck fever.

I'm glad I tried these rounds out for the gun, definitely confident for deer season.

I think I'm going to switch to Fusion, but it's hard to say which is better, I just got out with these two rounds this morning for the first time with the gun. Both are worthy to hunt with for the max range I'll be shooting for sure.

Yes, I have shot a few boxes of them with the single shot, they are very close to the Hornady SST I was using as far as groups go.
My Pump gun loves them. When I am still hunting or on deer drives that's what I load my Mossberg with.

Really I might just be being too picky as far as a deer hunting slug goes, but why not get it as tight as possible since I can't use any of my 308s or 223/556 in my state to deer hunt with.

Lightfields all the way, I have a H&R ultra in 12 and 20 gauge and they both love the lightfields. I also know a bunch of guys that are shooting H&Rs and they're all shooting the lightfields.

I may spend a little more time with them, I have a good friend that has the same gun and swears by them.
