Friend is a Trijicon/E-O Tech dealer.

Said he hasn't heard/seen any issues with the RMR mounted on a shotgun and actually recommended it to me over an E-O Tech (though not the one with batteries).
Winning may not be everything, but the endorsements are better.

QD docks, so long as they are high-quality (i.e. BCM, Noveske, ect) make a lot of sense in a fighting long gun. Most premium sling vendors now include sewn in QD swivels as an extra cost option. Just as one data point, I ran QD swivels and docks on my M4 carbine for a tour in Iraq in 2011 and have nothing but praise for the concept.

    Is that a Benelli Stock?

It does have to be removed for battery replacement. Battery lasts 1+ years. I have removed it just to check on that very idea. No adjustment in wind age or elevation needed.
