    Isn't there a second doctor?

In case nobody caught it, tonight's episode was about Neegan's failure to assess. The people he thinks are most loyal, really are not. His wives are plotting to kill him, Dwight showed up with pretzels and beer ready to run off into the sunset with his wife and Eugene contemplated a few things and only remained loyal out of a sense of self preservation.

The doctor was mostly killed by Dwight who got sick of the doctor trying to get in his head and / or manipulate him so Dwight sold him out. But mostly pretty boring.

One thing I noticed, ever since Rick and crew got their guns confiscated by Negan, I stopped taking the show as seriously. When they were running around with ARs, AKs and HKs I inadvertently attributed them some level of intelligence and skill. Now I just see them as a gaggle of incompetent rednecks bumbling from one bad idea to the next and only succeeding because the other gaggle of incompetent rednecks are even worse.

So a fairly accurate portrayal of an apocalyptic future?

I'm pretty sure Negan was referring to Eugene once he sacked the doc? "Good thing we have a spare" or something to that effect as he looked at Eugene?

The biggest plot failure is the fact they stay in NoVa to begin with. Previously they were nomadic survivors (this was also when the show was at its best). Makes no sense whatsoever they stopped moving when they found what is by far the most hostile place to live. Recall the only reason to go North was because they thought Eugene was involved in a cure. Once they found out he was a fraud, they should have shot him and when back home. Show has been downhill since they have tried to settle in.

I would have guessed the whole mess they are in to no small degree is Eugene's fault, so I agree.
I'm pretty sure getting out of Dodge would have been my priority about the time the quarry full of Walkers looked all sketchy like. Somewhere with acre's and acre's of previously farmed ground and some available fuel like coal would be nice.
    Where is Winter?

They film in Georgia. But that is an excellent point...

They talked in Season 2 about getting snowmobiles in Winter.....in Georgia. 1" of snow is considered an apocalypse.

I remember, I remember working the great Snowpocalypse of 2014. Everybody acted like it was the Soviet front of Stalingrad. People were praying, the NG was called in, the great run on bread and milk.

Yet they are in NoVA where snow is just another day and 1" ain't shit.

Maybe the show/comic creator just painted himself in a corner.

I just want the ending to be Ceelo Green popping out of nowhere saying
    "Dats it. Rick dead."

Between wolves, walkers and zombies they need to bail. Sure the houses look nice but how many times have they torn their ass on a nail and seen their sanctuary penetrated by amateurs. They'd have been better off going back to the prison and just putting the fences back up and securing that place.

I don't know what is holding them to Alexandria but they need to let it go.

I'm still surprised that they have come all this way and not run up on organized military enclaves like Day of the Dead.

Walking Dead was fresh when it started.
    Now it has gotten stupid.

I wish it were more like Highschool of the Dead both anime and comic.

They have a little by-line about the Federal Response of other nations. Everybody goes into "Use it or Lose it" mode.

It had a lot of hard Right undertones past all the tits and gore.

TWD is just all, "Well.....we're here. Zombies!"

Some damn Farm House in Southern Indiana would be my choice.
Once the corn was in you could cultivate those fields for great varieties of small crops and still retain some great fields of fire. Shooters on top of a silo during harvest and miles of Zombie proof tangle foot from old barbed wire would make things pretty secure. Finding a cache of burnable coal and a corn bio fuel source would be easier than what they are dealing with now.
The extra from your fuel source could make corn squeezings for barter.
