Specific thread for Gun Smithing tools?

I apologize if this is in the wrong place; however I think it might be pretty useful for a specific thread in the Equipment Exchange (EE) section dedicated solely for tooling/gunsmithing supplies.

I find myself constantly looking for specific jigs/tools and perhaps it could be a viable thread for others like myself to turn to before taking the plunge and purchasing pricey new ones for a 1 time job, where as if someone on here happened to have a specific barrel wrench or sear jig they had purchased but no longer need they could throw it up there and recoup some of the cost. I understand theres the "Everything Else" thread but that could cumbersome for someone specifically looking for tools.

If its doable great, if not thats cool too, just an idea...

    Any one else agree?

    +1.

I'm often enough looking at some tools thinking "I sort of need it but wow - all that money for something I use just once or twice..?"
Having a tool EE would excellent.

Or perhaps set something up where for a fee we could "rent" from those that have something and it's just laying around?

For instance - I could REALLY use a M&P front sight pusher. But all that bread for one time use?

I'll add a +1 to this also. Just starting to build some AR's and there are a lot of tools out there specific to one job. Can you get by without? Sometimes. But having worked with tools all my life, the old adage is to true; "the right tool for the job".

This is actually a big deal to people looking to work on an ak as there are a lot of specialized tools to work on them. I like the idea of this thread.

I think this would be a good idea and addition to the site.

    Hey all,
Going to revive this one purely out of selfish motivation, see if we can get some traction, think there's a few of us in the same boat...
About to put together a 308AR (DPMS/SR25 platform), waiting for barrel.
Do not have but need a barrel-torque tool/reaction rod.
I can buy a Geissele which will set me back a cool 200, or a Brownells for ~50, (s/h not included) but either way don't think I'll be using it more than once every few years....

Anyone have something I could rent or purchase?
