I have limited experience with Rainier barrels, but all of them have been sub-MOA with match ammo.

I have a 16" Medcon on one of my rifles, and I am please with it. I have not tried to find its ultimate accuracy, done by using match ammo on a bench. But I have been shooting it with M193 and M855, and found it to be a little more accurate than my Noveske steel barrels, but this is anecdotal compared to actual bench testing.

One of the things I really like is the profile of the barrel because it tapers down in diameter toward the muzzle. I bought the version in black and the finish is very nice. I had Rainier install a pinned Vltor low profile gas block.

This barrel is on a test rifle I use for trying out muzzle devices and rails. The upper build is a BCM M4 upper receiver (very nice tight barrel fit), right now it has an ALG Defense 13" MLok rail (excellent value), and a very short AAC single chamber brake which only adds 1/2" to the overall length. So it's OAL is only 1/2" longer than a 14.5" barrel with a traditional brake.

I had no problem with the head space and the feed ramps lined up perfectly.

One other thing: Rainier has an excellent return policy.

The barrel in the link up above has a 1:8 twist rate. Is that still good enough for match grain ammo

1/8 twist is very good for all around weights. Will shoot 77 grain. 1/8 is my favorite twist. 1/7 is a little fast for 55 grain, and good for heavy rounds. 1/9 is a little slow for heavy rounds over 62 grain. 1/8 is juuuuuuust right.

BTW this is a good barrel for all around shooting, but it is not a strictly "match grade" barrel.

I think I'll take mine out and shoot it today.
