Use only good quality, factory ( from reputable manufacture) ammo with your rifle. This will ensure trouble free training sessions. Period. This issue should not be a surprise. You used sub-par ammo in a thorough-bred rifle.....

That ammo is made for Federal in Israel. For the record I have fired close to 2K rounds of it and never had a malfunction. Other people have had issues, others haven't. I also have real IMI ammo that has also been 100%.

Until God gets into the ammo business anyone can and will make mistakes. Guess how many AR kabooms I have seen with Winchester, Federal M193, etc..

I’m definitely not using the Independence Ammo I have left, and I do not plan on using it again in the future.

I’ve still got a bunch of the boxes and the lot numbers. They were all from the same lot.

Over all this has been a good learning experience for me. I learned a lot trouble shooting the malfunctions in class and afterward when the armorers looked at my carbine. Twice I really had to mortar the gun pretty hard and I’ve got to say that the new BCM stock is super tough. I’m glad I had more than one make of ammo with me and that I brought more than what was required for class. I was able to scrap half of my supply and still have plenty for day 2.

I shot 5 rounds of this stuff when it first came out. That was it for me.

I have used the Independence 5.56 NATO without any problems in ARs with carbine gas systems and have had no issues. I have not used any in my Middys. I use Fed XM193 and AE 5.56 55gr. NATO in them with no issues. You have to remember that the Independence is made for the carbine systems and for the TAVOR long-stroke gas piston systems that they have in Israel. It is a little hotter than our XM193. Independence ammo is not bad. It is just made for specific weapon systems. Mid-lengths are not included.

Good to know. Last summer I shot 200 rounds of Independence 5.56 (different lot number) through my other BCM 14.5" Middy without any issues.

I use Sprinco springs and never worry about action springs again. YMMV

IG, any particular variety? Red, blue, white?

I too run Sprinco in everything. In my 14.5 Middy BCM I run a white with an H buffer. It eats all ammo I feed it without issue. Get a Sprinco recoil spring that comes with their 5 coil extractor spring. Drop them in and I would bet it runs muy excellante.
