An SBR (in the works) question

I recently discovered that the suppressor mount for my yhm suppressor is preventing the piston removal from the front of the weapon, see pic.

I can remove the barrel (LMT MRP) from the upper and get to the piston setup that way, but I just feel that there could/should be a solution out there that I am not aware of.

Thoughts? Yes I own a grinder and dremel, but there is too much to machine off.

Ditch the piston. Switch to the maintenance free and MORE reliable direct gas impingement system.

(maintenance free other than normal weapon lube/cleaning)

Not an option...went to piston to use in suppressed role.

I knew this might be THE option though

    Try a different suppressor mount.

Yup, do you happen to know of any?
I need to stay with the suppressor brand, YHM, and plan on checking with them too.

Yeah that excess material is used to stop the suppressor. A long term solution is a longer barrel (more clearance length wise).

You can run DI suppressed, that's probably your best long solution. You can buy adjustable DI gas blocks of you really want to adjust the gas block.

    Yeah
    Ditching a 16.1 and 10.5 DI barrels for the 12 " piston

I would look at cutting away a portion of the top of that ring for clearance. Or take the mount and a six pack to a buddy with a lathe
