Don't put a copy of the paperwork in the storage of the stock. If LE decides to have a problem with you/the gun, you will not be touching the weapon until they are satisfied with the situation. And LE more than likely won't be opening compartments on your gun.

Notarized, laminated and in range bag or case.

FWIW, No need to waste time notarizing copies of your approved NFA Forms . It does nothing to improve the validity of said form. Under the premise that a form must be notarized to be a legit copy, any copy made of a form like the small ones we all carry in our grips or range bags without a notary seal would be completely worthless.

This would mean many people would be punished for not carrying around they're original, irreplaceable form.

The only "Official" copy you'll get is a certified copy from the NFA in the case of a lost or non-delivered form.

Any copies you make on your own are acceptable.

Oh, I know it doesn't NEED to be notarized. It's all about appearances.

No argument there. For the uninformed with what they're looking at, a notary seal does lend the document a little bit more legitimacy.
